Get to Know Jesus

Getting to know Jesus is the most important thing you can do with your life. Of all the relationships you will ever have, a relationship with Jesus is the most significant – and life changing.

Here are some of the things Jesus said about himself, and what the Bible says about him:

God sent Jesus into the world to deal with all the muck that separates us from him.  Jesus came from heaven and entered into our life on earth to become one of us.  And, as one of us, he took all our wrong-doings and short-comings upon himself and paid the penalty for them on the cross, so that we don’t have to.  The penalty has been paid and we are forgiven, and free.  Then, as Jesus rose again from death, if we receive Jesus and what he has done for us on the cross, we also receive his resurrected life as our own – a life that will experience physical death but never spiritual death.  We shall live with him forever!

As he lives in us, and through us, we become new creations, gradually growing more like him.  And the longing of our heart finds its fulfilment in him.

The one who knows you best is the one who loves you the most!  He is what’s missing from your life.  And he’s even more ready to receive you into a relationship with him than you are to ask.

He sees you, knows you, loves you, accepts you…

If you would like to receive Jesus as your Saviour and Lord, here is a prayer you might like to pray:

“Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life (take a few moments to ask his forgiveness for anything specific that is on your conscience).  Please forgive me. I now turn from everything that I know is wrong.

Thank you that you died on the cross for me, so that I could be forgiven and set free. Thank you that you offer me forgiveness and the gift of your Spirit.

I now receive that gift. Please come into my life by your Holy Spirit to be with me forever.  Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen.”

Learn about baptism...

Jesus said
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

(Matthew 28:19).

Baptisms are party time for the church and heaven!

Washed from sin, thanks to Jesus’ great love,

we celebrate a precious life dedicated to serving God

and discovering new life in Christ. It’s a joyful part of raising children of God.

By full-immersion or sprinkling we love baptising people of all ages who want to follow Jesus. While the Uniting Church will baptise infants, parents can alternatively dedicate their children to God in a service that says to God, friends and family: “Thanks God for the gift of this amazing little life!

Holy Spirit help us as parents to do the best we can to bring up our child the way you want us to.”
